About Dr. Chris O’Grady
Dr. Christopher O’Grady is more than just a nationally recognized shoulder specialist. As a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, he holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine and has devoted his life to treating any and all conditions that stem from the musculoskeletal system, many of which result from situations like injury, arthritis, excessive use and more.
After earning his undergraduate degree in physics at the esteemed Georgetown University, he completed his orthopedic residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, as well as at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center Department of Orthopedic Surgery in beautiful New Hyde Park, New York.
He went on to not only the Lombardi Cancer Center for the research phase of his education, but also the aforementioned Georgetown University as well. He acted as a Microbiology Lab Technician for a year, before formally earning his status as Doctor of Medicine in 1997.
Dr. O’Grady believes it’s important to offer the widest array of options to his clients, which is why he is an expert in both surgical and non-surgical treatments. While shoulder injuries are one of his primary focuses, he also has a great deal of experience in knees and Regenerative Medicine, too.
Public Speaking
- Dr. O’Grady was recently the guest lecturer at the Houston Shoulder Society, where he spoke on complex shoulder replacements and the challenges and benefits contained within.
- He also spoke at a course titled “Exposures in Total Shoulder Arthroplasty,” which was co-chaired by himself and his good friend, Phani Dantuluri, M.D., of Atlanta.
- Dr. O’Grady was also honored to attend the New Orleans International Shoulder Symposium, where he participated in a focused shoulder course that allowed him to share his insights and experience into important topics like arthroscopy, arthroplasty and others. He valued the opportunity to give his thoughts on multiple topics on Sports Medicine, including how shoulder replacement could be used as a treatment for sports-related injuries. He participated both in teaching lectures and in cadaver labs during the course of the event.
