Don’t forget your calves. Although not often thought of when preparing for knee surgery, the calf muscles should not be forgotten as they are important for a proper gait / normal walking pattern. Healthy calves are crucial in aiding your circulation to prevent DVT’s (Deep Vein Thrombosis, Blood Clots).

Purpose and Function
Muscles worked: Gastrocnemius, and soleus.
Stronger calf muscles allows you to walk normally and on uneven surfaces like grass, gravel, and sand.
How to Run the Program
- Press “Dynamic Strength Program” button.
- Place toes/ball of foot on plate below bottom roller, your leg is beneath the roller, with your knee as straight as able. Place other foot on stool.
- Press “Start Calf Strengthening”.
- Point your toes, pushing against the footplate away, pause, then release.
- Press “Push to start timing”..
- Push and release repeatedly during the 30 sec.
- Record the “Best Score” shown.
