Most patients experience significant weakness following surgery which can be avoided by performing a pre-surgery quad strength exercise like this one.

Purpose and Function
Muscles worked: Quadriceps
Building this muscle group allows you to have better walking, squatting, balance, stability, and the ability to walk stairs (especially going down).
How to Run the Program
- Press “Dynamic Strength” button.
- Press “Start Quad Strengthening”.
- Place ankle between rollers, other foot planted on the stool.
- Push your foot against the front roller, straightening your knee, then kick/lift against the roller; try to use the friction of your foot against the plate to do most of the movement.
- Press “Push to start timing”.
- Pause during contraction, then rest and continue for the 30 sec.
- Record highest “Best Score” shown.
