Regaining range of motion is a race against scar tissue formation. It forms in the very early postoperative period. Scar tissue can be disrupted and prevented from forming during the first few weeks. If not treated, it can permanently limit your daily activities. Patients using traditional therapy are not able to do therapy during the ideal time to break up the scar tissue because of pain. This puts their recovery at risk. The X10 eliminates this problem because you begin using it within a few days after surgery. Its patented computerized control arm system prevents over flexing of the knee which reduces swelling causing no therapeutic pain thereby allowing patients to begin restoring their range of motion the day after their surgery while reducing the use of opioids.
